Cross Country

What a glorious day we had during the Cross Country on Tuesday May 15! Everyone had a fantastic time at St Albans Park. We appreciate the parents who joined us and supported their children.







Here we were getting ready in our classroom and lining up outside.
Mr O'Neill lead the prayer before we left school.








We walked around the park so that we would be familiar with the route we had to run.









We had to wait for our turn.






Meanwhile we had fun taking photos of our wonderful class.

It was wise to do our warm up before we ran.







The girls were first to run......


Then the boys.......


And the winners for Year 5 and 6 were.......
Boys: Joseph-first, Bradley-second Cortia-third
Girls: Isidora-first, Michelle-second Samantha-third
CONGRATULATIONS! We're proud of the winners and of everyone in our class for doing our best.






Gee, we were starving after our run, so we had our morning tea.















Mr O'Neill allowed us to play on the playground while waiting for the bus. Even Mrs McDonald and Mr Debenham had a go at the octopus!

What a blessed morning we had! We had great weather and awesome time. Everyone enjoyed the Cross Country very much.

Catholic Cathedral College Performance

It was a splendid performance of the Catholic Cathedral College on May 4 at the Learning Centre. The St Mary's students were so engrossed watching the choir and the orchestra. We appreciated their coming and sharing with us their different talents.










These boys (that's Lennon's brother on the left) played a tune " Umpa, Lumpa" from the popular movie, "The Chocolate Factory




A cello player showed us what beautiful music he can play.





Each of these girls played the violin, saxophone and flute.





A guitar was played by Mrs Wilkin's nephew Daniel, and these three including St Mary's ex-student and Lucy' sister, Grace sang a harmonious song called, "Eyes Open."


This group played the trumpet, a flute, an electric guitar and and drums at the back.


This is another song, "Love Song" played with the piano, and keyboard used as accompaniments.





The last number was a song from One Direction called, "What makes you beautiful." We saw some children on the mat swaying their heads and clapping with the rhythm.

Thank you very to the wonderful students at Cathedral College. Their inspiring performance was indeed a showcase of beautiful talents. We enjoyed it very much.

Lent Liturgy

Room 4 presented the reading according to John during our Lent Litugy before the Holy Week. Each one had a part to perform and our presentation went well.








A reading from John....



Jesus was crucified with two other men. Pilate wrote, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." He put it at the top of the cross.


The chief priests said to Pilate, "Do not write the King of the Jews, but rather, this man said, I am the King of the Jews."
Pilate answered, "What I have written stays written."



Room 4 sang, 'Dying You Destroyed Our Death."


Mr O'Neill explained the significance of Jesus' dying for us.


Room 3 did their part during the liturgy.








Room 5 performed the Resurrection of Jesus and when he showed himself to his disciples a few days later.

The children from Room 1 and 2 performed earlier on what happened during Palm Sunday.

It was a great time for us to reflect on what happened to Jesus during the Holy Week.

Swimming Strategies

In case of emergency with our life jackets on, we could in join together and help each other through different ways.
















We were trying to find out how we could cope when the water was rough. It was fun creating waves with the boards.


We learnt how to hold unto a bouy when someone tried to save us.





Look at us with our pajamas on. We found out that having wet clothes on while swimming were hard.













These photos were taken on our last day of swimming. We had a cool time.








We were waiting for our bus back to St Mary's School. We really enjoyed two weeks of our swimming lessons.
